The day has sadly arrived to wave goodbye to Fearne Cotton, who leaves Radio 1 today after almost ten years on the station. OH DON'T GO FEARNY.
Yep, after ten years on Radio 1, six of those being spent hosting her
mid-morning show, Fearne is bidding an emotional farewell as she gets
set to welcome a second baby to her gorgeous family. We'll miss you, love!
As it turns out, the
33-year-old's emotions got the better of her before she even managed to
leave the house today, and it's all thanks to her adorable little son
Rex.
Taking to Twitter, she
revealed: "My son just looked at my rather over the top dress I'm
wearing today and said " mummy princess" Tears have started before I
leave the house."
N'awww!
#FarewellFearne (errr, yeah, does sound a bit like she's died, doesn't it?).
The DJ has already been
joined by showbiz guests in the first hour of her last show ever, with
Kodaline turning up to play her a slightly remixed version of 'The One'.
Oh GAHD. Someone get Fearny some tissues, stat.
Reggie Yates popped in
to see his 'TV and radio wife', playing her a clip of her mad sick
rapping skills from one of their first shows together.
The two started out at Radio 1 together, hosting the ridiculously early breakfast show at the ungodly hour of 4am.
She recently said: "I started with my good friend Reggie Yates (on
Radio 1's early breakfast show) and we were probably terrible. But we
were out on at four in the morning and so the pressure wasn't as big as
it is these days."I remember fading up the fader and speaking for the first time and thinking 'Oh My God' people are actually listening.
"You still have a bit of that fear after all these years and that's why it's enjoyable."
Reggie was also
responsible for making Fearne cry for the first time on her last ever
show, playing James Bay's cover of '(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher
and Higher' and making her blub like a baby.
Oh Reggie, you meanie.
Celebs far and wide have been tweeting support for the mum-of-one, with Maroon 5 and Ed Sheeran all showing her some love:
And just about everybody else on Twitter too, but unfortunately we don't have space for them all.Errrr, anyone also subtly reaching for the tissues right now? IT'S ALL TOO MUCH FOR A FRIDAY.
Have a glorious last day, Fearne, and we really will miss you!
Clara Amfo will be taking over the show from next week. Good luck!
